Pacquiao Scores Career High 9 Points During The PBA All-Star Weekend
Pacquiao Scores Career High – Former world boxing champion and now Senator Manny Pacquiao has recently played for the Mahindra Enforcers to help the team win the Blitz Game against the Greats, 99-94, during the PBA All-Star Weekend, Friday, August 5, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Pacquiao has to replace his teammate, LA Revilla after his nose was broken during a recent practice for the lineup.
The boxing icon joined Chris Banchero, Raymond Almazan, and David Semerad, Mike Tolomia, Russel Escoto, Carl Bryan Cruz, Raphael Banal, including PBA legends Alvin Patrimonio, Ronnie Magsanoc, Topex Robinson, and Nic Belasco.
In a report by GMA News, even with the small crowd, Pacquiao seemed to be still be crowd favorite as they can be heard cheering as Pacquiao touches the ball.
The Senator finished with nine points, including two unguarded three-pointers. Almazan, provided most of the points during the game with 23 points and was also named the Most Valuable Player in the Game.
In an interview by Spin, Pacquiao said that he did not volunteer to play for the team but the ‘bosses’. According to him, he would play given with a condition that he won’t mess up the chemistry of the team.
“Masaya na ako na natutuwa ang team pag kasama nila ako, ganun rin ako pag kasama sila.” [I am glad that team is happy when I’m with them, and so I am with them.]
Pacquiao scored nine points, seven in the first period and the other two in the second. Also, he dished two assists.
Manny Pacquiao is the playing coach of Mahindra Enforcers who had the best start in the franchise history having three consecutive wins in the start of the PBA season.
