‘Senator’ Manny Pacquiao To Be More Active As Mahindra Coach, Will Work Two Duties
Former eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, even seen to become a senator in the Philippines said to be more active being a playing coach of Mahindra enforcer in the Philippine Basketball League (PBA).
Last April, Pacquiao ended his career by winning a unanimous decision against Timothy Bradley Jr.
In a report on ABS-CBN, Pacquiao has been in the number seven in the senatorial race having 15,552,970 votes as of 1:45 PM, May 12, 2016, based on the partial and unofficial results from the Comelec Transparency Server.
According to the Mahindra Team manager Eric Pineda, even Pacquiao will become a senator, he will still coach Mahindra.
“He will still be the head coach. He has retired from boxing, so he has more time to work with the team. He’ll be very active sa [on the] team.”
Pineda added that he might be dividing his time being a Senator and a coach as well. But, Pineda thinks that Pacquiao would be playing most of the games since he’s not in boxing anymore.
The team manager also added that Manny will be a very big factor for the players to play their best.
Pineda also wishes Pacquiao to be number one in the senatorial race but currently, Senator Franklin Drilon is on the top of the race with 18,118,108 then followed by Joel Villanueva with 18,062,363 votes.
Mahindra finished the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup with four wins and seven losses, also missing the playoffs.
