Cayetano who was seeking for a court relief after ABS-CBN aired the anti-Duterte advertisement, said he was able to get a TRO from a Taguig court.

The senator who is also running for the Vice Presidential post named as respondents ABS-CBN Corp, its chairman Eugenio Lopez III, CEO and President Carlo L. Katigbak, Vice Chairman Augusto Almeda-Lopez, Chief Operating Officer Socorro Vidanes, and Corporate Sales Head August Benitez.

The advertisement was reportedly paid for by Senator and VP runner Antonio Trillanes IV.

Cayetano referred to the ad as “malicious” and the latest propaganda hatched by a conspiracy composed of Malacanang, Mar Roxas and Grace Poe. Cayetano claimed that there are ongoing talks to convince either Roxas or Poe to give way to the other in an effort to defeat the now leading Duterte.

The advertisement became controversial causing uproar in the social media as it showed children reacting to some of the hard-talking Davao City mayor’s controversial remarks and acts, to which also shown cursing Pope Francis and his comment about the rape slay of an Australian missionary.

Cayetano furthermore questioned the timing of the release of the ad giving them no enough time to counter or reply to the ad before the Election Day.

For Senator Trillanes, the TRO is an attempt “to block the truth from coming out and shatter the myth that they have propagated.”

The Comelec already explained that the airing of the political ads against the candidate is not against the law.

The senator Cayetano meanwhile accused the network for blocking his advertisement to which ABS-CBN denied and however requested that the ad to be edited.

The company said that the committee only requested that the footage showing the network executives in the ‘Harapan ng Bise’ debate be edited out from his advertisement.

It added that the company did not receive the revised material of the advertisement.
