According to the report, the parents of the 10-year-old boy with Leukemia are both farmers from Guangzhou. They live in a 10-square-meter apartment in Beijing.

It was in May 2017 when they knew about the saddening news about their son’s health. Reportedly, the boy’s parents have already spent 500,000 yuan for his treatment.

To help fund the hospitalization of the boy diagnosed with Leukemia, their relative and some charity groups have donated to the family.

However, the mother was shocked with what she found out when she was about to pay a hospital in Beijing – there is only 9,000 yuan (around PHP 73,000) left in her account when it supposed to contain 150,000 yuan (PHP 1.2 million).

Based on the report, 8,000 yuan were seen deducted from her account six times in January and she sought the help of the police authorities to have it investigated.

The investigation of the police found that the money was transferred to a WeChat account called “King of Glory”. It belonged to her 10-year-old son diagnosed with Leukemia and the account was named after a prominent game in China.

Based on the report, according to the 10-year-old boy, he observed his mom as she transfer money through the WeChat account and he transferred the money that was intended to be used for him to his mobile phone account. It was used to pay for online game subscriptions.

The shocked mother expressed that it was her fault. She also hopes her son to be given another chance.

According to the report, the firm behind the WeChat, the Tencent, vowed to return the 50,000 yuan transferred from the boy’s account. His mother was able to get back two-thirds of the money misspent by her son through the help of other companies and individuals.
