This search engine was founded by Christian Kroll on December 2009 as he started his page after his trip around the world and understanding the problems of deforestation. This search engine is completely transparent in a way that they publish their monthly financial reports, using renewable energy for their servers, and privacy-friendly in that way that they have no third party trackers.
How it works
You can search the web through this search engine. Every time you search for a certain word, the “tree” counter will appear. That counter can contribute to generating their income. The income that the search engine has generated will use in order for them to plant trees.
Accomplishments
This search engine was awarded as People’s Choice because of their concept and growth in Europe in 2009-2011. In April 2014, this search engine was the first German company to become a B Corporation, that is, this search engine successfully meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. In June 2019, they have already built their solar energy plant to power it every time you search.
