Pokémon Go Player Just Caught All 142 Pokémon Available In The US

Pokemon Go player Nick Johnson from Brooklyn, New York claims to be the first one to catch all the 142 Pokemon available in the US.

142 Pokémon

In a Reddit post, Johnson publicly announced that he already completed his collection with a screen capture of his Pokédex showing all the 142 Pokemon available in the United States as of the moment. But, commenters have been accusing him of cheating and even faking what he’s done.

According to Johnson, he has already caught 135 Pokemon in just the first week and a half after the game was released on July 6. Then after long nights and a lot of doing, he completed all the Pokemon after two weeks. And according to him, it’s all worth it.

“You want to catch ’em all and become a Pokémon master, [it’s] the childhood dream, but it never really occurred to me I might be the first one to do it until I got pretty close,” said Johnson as quoted by CNN.

Johnson had to put about some of his time pursuing his dream even though he’s been working for about 50 hours a week in a startup company called Applico. In an article by Business Insider, the 28-year-old Pokemon Go player would spend 6-10 hours walking around the city at night and would stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning.

The Pokemon master now gave a great tip for everyone who wanted to be like him. He said that one needs to “buy some good walking shoes”. And according to his health app on his smartphone, he had walked an average of 8 miles each day.

Johnson said that he will still play the game even though he already finished capturing all Pokemon in the US. But for the meantime, he’ll be “sleeping a little more regularly.
