Full list of the MMFF 2016 entries.
Official entries for the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) have been revealed that will be screened at the annual Filipino film festival.
According to a report of the ABS-CBN news, the 8 entries were selected based on the following criteria:
- Story, Audience appeal and Overall impact (40%)
- Cinematic attributes or technical expertise (40%)
- Global appeal (10%)
- Filipino sensibility (10%)
One of the most awaited movie fest during Christmas season is the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
This is already a part of the Filipino tradition during Christmas day in the Philippines which showcases movies that are locally made.
MMFF movies will be in theaters on December 25 and will run until January 7. The annual MMFF parade will be held on December 23.
Here’s the list of full-length and short films you can catch this Christmas!
1. Star Cinema’s Vince & Kath & James is the only film to have come out of a big studio.

2. Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 2: Forever is not Enough is the only sequel this year.
Director: Marlon Rivera
Starring: Eugene Domingo, Jericho Rosales, Kean Cipriano, Khalil Ramos, and Cai Cortez
3. Die Beautiful: Paolo the best actor award. Die Beautiful has an MTRCB rating of R13.
Director: Jun Robles Lana
Starring: Paolo Ballesteros, Joel Torre, Gladys Reyes, Luis Alandy, Albie Casiño, Iza Calzado
4. Kabisera: a family drama almost in the tradition of Mano Po.
Directors: Arturo San Agustin and Real Florido
Starring: Ms. Nora Aunor , Ricky Davao, JC De Vera,Luis Alandy, Jason Abalos,RJ Agustin
5. Oro
The film will be showcasing the tension in a community of miners after an armed group appears, Oro is pretty hella heavy. Oro is rated PG by the MTRCB.

6. Saving Sally
Director: Avid Liongoren
Starring: Rhian Ramos, Enzo Marcos
It took 10 years before it was successfully completed.
7. From the makers of Heneral Luna comes Babyruth Villarama’s Sunday Beauty Queen.
A documentary that takes a look at Filipina overseas workers in Hong Kong.

8. Seklusyon
It is the horror movie in the lineup.
