Lea Salonga called the attention of the millennials because of this particular reason.
Broadway diva Lea Salonga has a sound advice to all the millennials or those who belong in the Generation X regarding their use of different social media platforms.
Lea took to her Twitter account her statement intended to the youth in posting their stories on Facebook and on Instagram.
She said that the young ones should “remember to live real life as it happens without having to video it.”
Dear young ones that enjoy making IG/FB stories, as fine and good as all that is, please remember to live real life as it happens without having to video it. That is all.

There are several netizens who agreed to her sound advice for the youth of this generation. Twitter user @wickedtin even cited a good example of an incident which showed what the singer wanted to convey.
True!!! I heard of a family on a trip, all of them with their phones, taking videos and photos for IG Stories, because they had a portable wifi device. Ayun, all of them wanting to broadcast to their online friends, but then missing the memories&family bonding on the actual trip.

Lea then shared that she can’t get what the concept of FB and IG stories which most of the millennials are fond of doing right now.
Haaaaaaaay. To be honest, I don't get the stories part. I get IG, but why even take a video and post if it's only going to disappear?

There were other netizens who tried to explain the purpose of having Stories on the two of the most popular social media platforms.
And they don’t all disappear… they get archived and then you can group them into folders to display on your profile.

One netizen even felt nostalgic about the time when people are still using roll films for cameras.
They tend to forget to live in the moment. It was way better during "film roll days" where every bit of it counts. Genuine smile. Raw emotions. Making sure negatives are kept!

One member of the millennials answered to Lea’s advice that she is posting to her IG Stories because she knows her crush is watching those.
