Will Angel Locsin Run For Senator?
ANGEL LOCSIN – A high ranking official from the Commission on Elections believes that Angel Locsin could win if she’d run for Senator.
COMELEC Commissioner Rowena Guanzon took to Twitter and said:
“In my opinion, if Angel Locsin runs for Senator, she can win. Tatak Bisaya, Ilongga. Courageous, bright, and with a sincere heart .”
Amid every tragedy that has happened in the Philippines, one thing remained constant, Angel Locsin going out of her way to help her fellow Filipino. Because of this, Angel has been dubbed as the Real-life Darna, emulating the values of a true hero on and off screen.
But, does Angel even want to run for a position in Senate? According to an article from PEP, Angel has said no to politics. Back in May 1, 2020, Angel was asked if she wanted to become a public servant (in politics).
The actress responded with “Public servant naman po kami bilang mga artista, e. I think iyong buhay naman namin is very public”. She explained that artists do what they do for the public, not only for themselves. However, when it comes to politics, Angel answered with a firm “No, Hindi Tagalaga”.
Angel has long been recognized for her humanitarian initiatives and has helped thousands of Filipinos. Because of this, The Zonta Club of Makati & Environs presented Angel with the Centennial Champion Award.
The group recognized Angel’s volunteer efforts throughout the year such as helping evacuees during the siege of Makati, donating food and goods to victims of the Taal volcano eruption, and countless other selfless acts for the benefit of the people.
