Brgy Captain Doesn’t Allow Delivery, Asks Residents To Meet Couriers Instead
BRGY CAPTAIN DOESN’T ALLOW DELIVERY – Residents of a Barangay in Pasig heavily criticized their Brgy. Captain and she barred couriers from entering their neighborhood.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, most residents turned to online shopping as going to malls had become a risky endeavor. As such people celebrated in the fact that they could have their products delivered right to their doorsteps.
However, the Brgy. Captain of Manggahan, Pasig City, banned the entry of these couriers. Afterward, a resident reported the incident on Twitter to Pasig City’s Mayor, Vico Sotto.
In a Facebook Post, the Brgy. Captain said:
“Mga taga napico pag may order po kau sa shopee/lazada etic. Basta hindi pagkaen pakikuha nlang po sa arko, d na po pinapapasok hanggang arko lng po”
Luckily, a few minutes after the report, Sotto responded and said they would immediately talk to the Brgy. Captain. A follow-up Tweet was made by the Mayor who said he already had a representative investigate the situation.
