The inspiring story of the craftsman behind President Duterte’s shoes was revealed.
CRAFTSMAN – Rolando de Guzman Santos is one of the hardworking workers in the shoe making industry in the country and has a peculiar dream of giving the Philippine president his personally-made pair of shoes.
The usual day-to-goal of a worker is to finish his job, feel satisfied, earn for the day’s expenses, and eventually sleep soundly at night after a day’s work but one craftsman in the field of shoe making has something unique in his goals.
Rolando de Guzman Santos wanted to give President Rodrigo Roa Duterte a pair of shoes which he personally made with his expertise on the field for 54 years already.
A recent report in Phil Star stated the story of the craftsman and how the pair of shoes was given to the President.
According to the report, Boni Adaza, designer in Chardin fashion house, was the one who was contacted by Rosemarie, the daughter of Rolando, when she knew that the fashion house will be making a barong for the President.
Adaza said that Rosemarie sent him a message through Facebook asking if she could give the shoes made by his father to the President.
