Maxine Medina, an interior designer from Quezon City, brought home the crown as she was hailed as the Miss Universe Philippines 2016.
The 2016 Binibining Pilipinas coronation night was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, April 17, 2016.
Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015, crowned Maxine Medina, the new Miss Universe Philippines 2016.
This year’s Miss Universe pageant will be joined by Maxine as she represents the country.
To give the crown which symbolizes the true beauty and wit of a Filipina to the winner of the Miss Universe Philippines 2016, Miss Universe 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, flew straight from New York to Philippines.
The pageant was participated by 40 candidates from across the country. The best of the best candidates were sent to battle for the title as the Philippines hopes for a back-to-back history in the Miss Universe pageant.
The Bb. Philippine Airlines title was also won by the twenty five-year-old interior designer from Quezon.
Bb. Pilipinas International was given to Kylie Versoza who happens to the pageant’s favorite.
Ms. Photogenic, Manila Bulletin Readers’ Choice and JAG She’s Got the Look awards were also bagged by Kylie.
A lassie who works at the Department of Finance was hailed as the Bb. Pilipinas Grand International. She’s no other than Nicole Cordovez.
Jennifer Hammond of Laguna brought home the Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental title. The Best in Long Gown award was also given to her proving the elegance of the gown she had worn on the competition.
The Best in Swimsuit award and as well as the Bb. Pilipinas Supranational went to Joanna Deapera Eden. A 19-year-old lassie.
Bb. Creamsilk and Bb. Pilipinas Globe went to Quezon City’s another bet, Nichole Marie Manalo.
Vina Prulla Openiano was hailed as the Ms. Friendship and Best in Talent and the Best in National Costume went to Angela Lauren Fernando.
