Massive 354-Kilogram Alligator Caught In Florida

A massive alligator has been recently tracked down by hunters in Outwest Farms in Okeechobee, Florida was finally caught.

In a report in CNN, it says that the owner of the farm, Lee Lightsey, his son mason, the guide Blake Gowin along with two hunters saw the alligator in one of the ponds in the ranch.

They initially estimated that the length of the creature would be “just under 15 feet”. It turned out that the alligator has a length of 14 feet and 3.5 inches.

Also, officials confirmed that the alligator weighed about 780 pounds or 354 kilograms. That was huge!

“There’s a lot of folks saying that, but it’s 100% real. I took that picture,” Godwin said to CNN.

These alligators is classified to be an American Alligator which is common in Florida. It is said that the length of the alligator ranges from 10 to 15 feet. They can be found normally in fresh-water environments like ponds, rivers, and marshes.

The caught massive alligator weighs 780 pounds compared to the heaviest one weighing 1,043 pounds.

Still, it’s a big catch indeed!

“It’s just fun to see a great day for the hunters, the big ones like that are exciting for the hunters,” Lightsey said to CNN.

What will happen to the alligator?

Lightsey said that it will undergo taxidermy, a process of preserving a creature using stuffings and the like. He also added that the meat that will be left by the hunters will be donated to charity.
