Netizens Slam COVID-19 Dance Number Meant To Remind Public To Fight Virus

NETIZENS SLAM COVID-19 DANCE – The general question netizens had on social media regarding the coronavirus dance number was “WHY?“.

Recently, DILG- San Pablo City and the Philippine Information Agency posted a video of people fighting a COVID-19 mascot with sticks. Along with this, they were dancing to a song called “Corona Lumayo Ka”.

The presentation itself was meant to serve as a reminder to the public to fight against the spread of COVID-19. However, the execution of the message didn’t quite land with netizens.

Some netizens commented “Instead of taking action, let’s just dance”. Meanwhile, others criticized the event team and asked what the dance number accomplished in the health crisis the Philippines is facing.

The intermission number took place during the visit of Inter-Agency Task Force members who convened with the local governments of Cabuyao and San Pablo, Laguna.

The three-minute song and dance number interpreted the ways on how to fight COVID-19 such as social distancing and using alcohol. Moreover, the running theme of the song focused on reminding the public that we should stay away from the coronavirus.
