Anti-Duterte TV commercial aired on ABS-CBN, GMA-7 and TV5

An anti-Duterte television commercial which was simultaneously aired on network giants; ABS-CBN, GMA-7 and TV5 has drawn flak on social media.

The network giants were heavily criticized by some netizens for airing a “discriminating” advertisement that targets presidential race frontrunner Rodrigo Duterte.

The TV commercial paid for by Sen. Antonio Trillanes even landed as the hottest topic in various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and micro-blogging site, Twitter.

The TV ad features children reacting to the controversial remarks of the tough-talking Davao City mayor, including his controversial remark to an Australian missionary and “cursing” at Pope Francis.

Despite the controversial ad, solid Duterte supporters said that they won’t change their minds upon supporting the PDP-Laban standard-bearer in the May 9, 2016 elections.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN has released a statement for airing anti-Duterte ad which was paid for by Sen. Trillanes for 20 million.

“The controversial political advertisement being talked about in social media, which aired on ABS-CBN, was produced and paid for by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV. Prior to the airing, ABS-CBN’s ethics committee reviewed the content of the material, which complies with the requirements of pertinent election laws,” ABS-CBN said.

“By airing the said commercial, ABS-CBN is being consistent with COMELEC guidelines, which prohibit radio or television stations to discriminate in the sale of air time against any political party or candidate. We are duty bound to air a legitimate ad,” the network giant noted.

Male Passenger Caught Maltreating  A Female Student

If ever you came across on this Facebook video, for sure you too have reacted with so much anger to this make passenger who verbally abused a female student passenger inside an FX.

The video has now garnered more than 1 million views with more than 200, 000 shares as of posting. This controversial video was been uploaded by a certain Soy Gonzales and has quickly gone viral.

As can be seen in the video, a man was seen shouting and cussing a female student inside an FX. According to Soy, the man, who was sitting with his wife beside him when the incident happened, shouted the female student because she was blocking his way.

As seen in the first video, you will witness the two exchanging hot words inside the FX. And as the female student tried to discuss the issue calmly with him, the angry male passenger was heard cursing the student.

The second video shows the heated arguments between the two of them after the male passenger and his wife coming down from the FX. The man was still shouting and cursing the student and it can be heard repeatedly. The man said that he is dealing with a big problem, and he also keeps saying cuss words to the female student.

And what’s even worse is that even though it was not captured in the video, Soy Gonzales claimed that the angry man punched the student on her shoulders.

The viral video has been a way to track the man in the video. Several netizens identified the man as Mike M. Arellano.

In a post by Social Trend PH, it can be seen that the police tracked Arellano’s location with the help of some concerned citizens. Several photos showed the alleged capture of Arellano.

When talking about Martial Law, for sure a lot of Filipino people are still in trauma because of this historical event. This was the time when the late President Ferdinand Marcos ruled the Philippines. But before we go beyond the story of Martial Law, first let us identify of what Martial Law really is.

It is when the head of the state of the President proclaims that a certain area is placed under the rule or control of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The imposition of Martial Law includes curfews, suspension of civil law, civil rights, habeas corpus, and the application or extension of military law or military justice.

Yesterday, a video unmask the idealization of the event during the Marcos period. The video was posted by the group Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang – Carmma.

As can be seen in the video, they invited several Filipino youths for an interview on what they knew about Martial Law that happened in the Philippines. The video now garnered, more than 1 million views, 16 thousand likes and more than 44 thousand shares and still counting.

As the video is rolling, these young Filipino defines martial law, defining it as a time of discipline and prosperity.

One interview said, “”Mas pinaiiral and batas, ay disiplina ang tao at alam nila ang curfew.”

The other interviewee sited a positive definition and likened to the Marcos regime as like to the tough love of a parent.

“Sobrang higpit talaga niya. Pero ang higpit niya ay parang pagmamahal ng magulang,” one interviewee said.

When they are asked if they are in favor of martial law, they responded all the same – “yes.”

But it doesn’t end there…

The mode of this video changes when the camera changed its direction focusing when the interviewers introduced themselves.

Meet Marie Maiso, Rodel Briones, Danilo dela Fuente and Lourdes Victoriano, these guys were all human rights victims of the Martial law – Marcos regime.

Presidential candidate Mar Roxas is making rounds on the social media sites after his old video showing him cursing in public went viral again. The clip has received negative reactions from the netizens.

In the viral video, the former Senator was caught cursing in a 2008 anti-Charter change rally in Makati. Mar Roxas was speaking in front of approximately 7,000 people who protested against charter change which was proposed by former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

“P— ina, ano ba ‘to. Tabi-tabi na po sa mga Sister, sadya ko pong sinabi ito, hindi ko gustong lumipas ang araw na ito, na hindi alam ni Gloria ang damdamin natin. Ibasura ang Cha-Cha, patayin ang “Gloria Forever” Cha-Cha na ito!,” he said.

The video has more than 200,000 views on YouTube and is being criticized by the the viewers. Many said that he should not call himself a “decent” man if he curses.

Last year, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda defended Mar Roxas, saying that he was not referring to any person.

“Like I said, there’s a difference between ‘PI’ and ‘PI mo.’ Everybody knows that ‘di ba? So you go through the video and you will see he spoke out against Charter change during that time,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mar Roxas is currently busy campaigning for the presidential elections this May 9, 2016. His runningmate is Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo who is running for the vice president.

Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo are both being endorsed by the incumbent president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino under the Liberal Party.
