NCMF to File Case Against Tukomi Pranksters Due to “Arabo Prank”
The National Commission of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) will file a case against famous pranksters Tukomi due to their “Arabo Prank”.
The NCMF on their official Facebook, post that they will file a lawsuit against Filipino internet pranksters. The commission plans to sue the creators of the popular prank vlog ‘Tukomi’ for a video they published in which they pretended to be Muslims.
Pranksters may be seen hurling black bags at their pranks in the video “Maghagis ng itim na Bag ng Naka pang Arabo.” This could be interpreted as a bomb threat, causing widespread panic.
The NCMF didn’t like it and called it “insensitive” because the content producer appeared to portray Muslims negatively. The NCMF was alerted of the event and the information was given to their Bureau of Legal Affairs for further investigation.
“The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has been notified about this incident. We have forwarded the information to our Bureau of Legal Affairs for the next steps in addressing the issue, particularly in determining the cases that may be filed against these individuals” NCMF said in their statement.
“Meanwhile, we appeal to the public to refrain from spreading the video, and to avoid further engagements with the content creators,” they added.
Tukomi, on the other hand, apologized for their prank. “Humihingi kami ng paumanhin sa lahat ng mga na offend na mga kapatid nating Muslim. We will address the issue regarding sa kumakalat tungkol sa recent comment trolling prank episode natin.”
