Pagasa: Tropical Depression LPA 12b Develops Outside PAR

At 2:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 12b) located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) intensified into a Tropical Depression. According to PAGASA’s 3:00 PM bulletin, the Tropical Depression was situated approximately 900 km southwest of southwestern Luzon, at coordinates 3.8°N, 113.2°E. It carries maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of up to 75 km/h, moving east-northeastward at a speed of 15 km/h.

  • Visayas, rest of Luzon, northeastern Mindanao: Moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast, moderate to rough seas with wave heights of 1.5 to 3.7 meters.
  • Rest of Mindanao: Light to moderate winds from the east to southeast, slight to moderate seas with wave heights of 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
