The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather bulletin for June 6, 2025, highlighting the development of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the ongoing effects of the Southwest Monsoon, also known as “Habagat.”

As of 3:00 PM today, the LPA was located approximately 340 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (14.2°N, 127.3°E). While the system has not yet intensified into a tropical depression, it continues to enhance the Southwest Monsoon, influencing weather conditions across a large portion of the country.
Widespread Rains Across the Country
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast for Metro Manila, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal), MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and SOCCSKSARGEN. These weather conditions are attributed to the Southwest Monsoon, which is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall. PAGASA warns of possible flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, Quezon Province, the Bicol Region, and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will experience similar conditions due to the trough of the LPA. Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are likely, with similar risks of flooding and landslides.
The rest of Luzon is expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Although rainfall will be less intense in these areas, severe thunderstorms could still result in localized flooding and landslides.
Wind and Coastal Conditions
Light to moderate winds are forecast nationwide. The eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas will experience winds from the northeast to northwest, while the rest of Luzon will have winds from the southwest to south. Coastal waters in all areas will be slightly to moderately rough, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
Temperature and Humidity
The maximum temperature for the day reached 33.2°C at 2:00 PM, while the minimum was 26.3°C recorded at 5:30 AM. Relative humidity ranged from a low of 63% in the afternoon to a high of 92% early this morning.
Heavy Rainfall Outlook
From today until the afternoon of June 7, rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm are expected in the provinces of Antique, Iloilo, Occidental Mindoro, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Albay, Camarines, Catanduanes, Masbate, Sorsogon, Palawan, Batangas, Quezon, and Northern and Eastern Samar.
The rains are forecast to persist from Saturday afternoon through Sunday (June 8), extending to Zambales and Bataan. Further rainfall is also expected through Monday afternoon (June 9), impacting parts of Western Visayas, MIMAROPA, and the Zamboanga Peninsula.

PAGASA advises the public and local disaster risk reduction units to remain vigilant and monitor for updates, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
