Rodrigo Duterte Tops The Presidential Survey For The First Time

Rodrigo Duterte leads the latest presidential survey.

For the first time, the most popular presidential candidate Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte topped the latest survey of The Standard Poll conducted by Laylo Research. The majority of respondents said that they will vote PDP-Laban standard-bearer if the election will be held today.

In the survey conducted from March 26 to April 1, the result showed the Mindanao presidential bet with at least 30 percent, followed by the neophyte senator Grace Poe with 27 percent.

The administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas came in third spot with 21 percent followed by Vice President Jejomar Binay with 18 percent, while senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago got the last spot with only 2 percent.

The survey with national error margin of +/- 1.8% was participated by 3,000 registered voters from 40 highly-urbanized cities which includes the 17 cities in National Capital Region and 79 provinces.

According to the resident pollster of The Standard Junie Laylo, Rody Duterte has the momentum at this time among other presidential candidates, adding that he has significant increase in Mindanao as well as in Central and Eastern Visayas and NCR.

On the other hand, the vice presidential survey result showed senator Bongbong Marcos statistically tied with senator Chiz Escudero with 28 and 25 percent, respectively. It was followed by Alan Peter Cayetano with 15 percent, Antonio Trillanes IV with 5 percent, and Gringo Honasan with 3 percent.

The national and local election is scheduled on May 9, 2016 at public schools on each Barangay. The Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) can also vote overseas as the Comission on Elections has provided 85 Philippine foreign posts. Comelec urged the 1.3 million registered voters abroad to practice this basic political right this coming elections.
