PAGASA Weather Forecast Today October 13, 2024

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued its weather forecast for today, October 13, 2024, with the Shear Line affecting Extreme Northern Luzon. Here is the breakdown of weather conditions across various regions of the country:

Weather Today

Forecast Weather Conditions:

  • Batanes and Babuyan Islands
These areas are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Shear Line. Residents are advised to be cautious as moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
  • Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon
These provinces will also have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, but the Easterlies are the cause of this weather. As in the northern areas, there is a risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in areas prone to these hazards during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall.
  • Bicol Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley
These areas can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These rains are also due to the influence of the Easterlies. While the weather may seem relatively mild, severe thunderstorms may lead to flash floods or landslides in certain areas.
  • Metro Manila and the rest of the country
The nation’s capital and other regions will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to Localized Thunderstorms. Residents are warned of potential flash floods or landslides in case of intense thunderstorms.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions:

  • Luzon and Visayas
Wind speeds are expected to be light to moderate, coming from the northeast to east, and coastal waters will be slight to moderate (waves between 0.6 and 2.5 meters).
  • Mindanao
Winds will also be light to moderate, blowing from the east to northeast. Coastal waters will remain slightly moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

General Flood Advisories:

PAGASA has also issued General Flood Advisory #1 for Region 6 (Western Visayas) as of 5:00 AM today. Residents in low-lying areas should take precautions and monitor further weather updates.
