The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) provided its 5 PM weather update on Typhoon Querubin, which has weakened into a Low-Pressure Area (LPA). At 3 PM today, the LPA was located 220 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, or 275 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, at coordinates 9.5°N, 128.0°E.
Forecast Weather Conditions
- Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region
These areas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Residents should prepare for possible flash floods or landslides as moderate to heavy rains, with occasional intense downpours, are expected. - Rest of Visayas and Mindanao
Similar weather conditions will persist, with cloudy skies and scattered rains caused by the trough of the LPA. Moderate to heavy rains may result in flash floods or landslides. - Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and Oriental Mindoro
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to these areas. Residents should remain vigilant for possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy rainfall. - Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora
These areas will experience cloudy skies with light rains brought by the northeast monsoon. No significant impact is expected. - Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon
Weather conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also caused by the northeast monsoon. There are no significant impacts anticipated.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
- Extreme Northern Luzon
Winds will be strong to gale-force from the northeast, resulting in rough to very rough coastal waters with wave heights of 2.8 to 4.5 meters. - Eastern Philippines and Western Northern Luzon
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast will cause moderate to rough seas, with wave heights reaching 2.5 to 4.0 meters.
Pagasa advises small vessels to exercise caution when venturing into rough waters. The public is urged to remain updated on weather advisories and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
