Pagasa Weather Forecast for March 20, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has released its weather forecast for March 20, 2025, highlighting the effects of the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and the Shear Line on various parts of the country.

Pagasa Weather Update

Weather Conditions

  • Visayas, Caraga, Sorsogon, and Masbate
Expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line. Moderate to heavy rains may lead to possible flash floods or landslides in these areas.
  • Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of the Bicol Region
These areas will experience cloudy skies with rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon. There is a risk of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
  • Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail, also due to the Northeast Monsoon. However, no significant impact is expected in these areas.
  • The rest of the country
Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to Easterlies. While most areas will remain dry, severe thunderstorms may cause localized flash floods or landslides.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

  • Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas
Winds will be strong from the northeast, leading to rough coastal waters with wave heights ranging from 2.8 to 4.0 meters.
  • The rest of Luzon
Winds from the northeast will be moderate to strong, with moderate to rough coastal waters and wave heights between 1.2 to 3.5 meters.
  • The rest of the country
Light to moderate winds from the northeast will cause slight to moderate coastal waters with wave heights between 0.6 and 2.5 meters.

General Flood Advisories (GFA) Issued at 6:00 AM, March 20, 2025

  • Region 7 (Central Visayas) – GFA #1
  • Region 8 (Eastern Visayas) – GFA #4
