Pagasa Afternoon Weather Forecast – April 24, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued its afternoon weather forecast for Thursday, April 24, 2025, highlighting the continued influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) over southern Mindanao and the prevailing easterlies across the rest of the country.

Afternoon Weather Update

According to Pagasa, residents in SOCCSKSARGEN, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Davao Occidental, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. These weather conditions may trigger moderate to, at times, heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying or mountainous areas.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also influenced by the ITCZ. Although rainfall is expected to be more isolated, residents are still advised to be vigilant as severe thunderstorms may still result in localized flooding or landslides.

For Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines, Pagasa forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily caused by the easterlies. Like in Mindanao, these thunderstorms may bring brief but intense rainfall, potentially causing localized flooding or minor landslides.

Pagasa also provided updates on wind and coastal conditions. In the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast, with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 1.8 meters). In the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, winds from the southeast to south will prevail, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters. The rest of the country can expect light to moderate easterly to northeasterly winds, with slight to moderate sea conditions (0.5 to 1.0 meters).

Temperature extremes for the 24 hours ending at 4:00 PM show a minimum of 26.5°C at 7:00 AM and a maximum of 35.3°C at 3:00 PM. Relative humidity ranged from 41% at 2:00 PM to a high of 79% at 5:00 AM.

For Metro Manila, tidal data indicate low tides at 2:39 AM (0.03 m) and 1:48 PM (0.35 m), with high tides at 9:13 AM (0.58 m) and 8:12 PM (0.82 m) tomorrow.
