The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that the country remains under the influence of easterlies on Saturday, May 10, 2025. However, a frontal system is expected to bring adverse weather to some northern parts of the country.

Cloudy Skies in Batanes and Babuyan Islands
Residents of Batanes and the Babuyan Islands should prepare for cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Pagasa attributes this weather pattern to a frontal system affecting the northernmost tip of Luzon. Due to moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall, the weather bureau warns of potential flash floods and landslides in these areas, especially in low-lying and mountainous communities.
Warm and Partly Cloudy Conditions in Metro Manila and Elsewhere
In contrast, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or evening. These conditions are caused by the prevailing easterlies, or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean. While most areas can expect generally fair weather, localized thunderstorms could still bring hazards such as flash floods or landslides.
Light to Moderate Winds Across the Country
Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate winds coming from the southeast to south, resulting in slight to moderate coastal waters, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters. Elsewhere in the country, winds will also be light to moderate, blowing from the east to southeast, with similarly slight to moderate seas between 0.6 and 1.2 meters high.
Temperature and Humidity Extremes
For the 24 hours ending at 4:00 PM today, Pagasa recorded a minimum temperature of 25.0°C at 6:00 AM and a maximum temperature of 35.4°C at 2:30 PM. The lowest relative humidity was logged at 42% in the early afternoon, while the highest reached 90% at 5:00 AM.
With high temperatures and humidity levels prevailing across much of the country, the public is advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses. Meanwhile, residents in areas affected by thunderstorms are urged to remain alert and monitor weather updates from Pagasa.
