Pagasa Afternoon Weather Forecast for May 11, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released its afternoon weather bulletin on Sunday, May 11, 2025, highlighting the continued influence of easterlies across the country and a frontal system affecting Northern Luzon.

Pagasa Weather Update

According to Pagasa, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. The rains are brought by a frontal system currently lingering over the northern tip of the archipelago. Residents in these areas are advised to remain vigilant, as moderate to at times heavy rainfall could trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in mountainous or low-lying locations.

For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, generally fair weather is expected. Skies will range from partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms likely in the late afternoon or evening. These conditions are associated with the warm and moist easterlies affecting the entire archipelago. While most areas will enjoy dry weather during the day, sudden heavy downpours may occur in some localities, potentially causing brief flooding or landslides, especially in vulnerable areas.

In terms of wind and sea conditions, Extreme Northern Luzon is forecast to have moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest. Coastal waters in the region will be moderate to rough, with wave heights ranging between 1.2 and 3.0 meters. Small seacraft are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea.

The Visayas and the rest of Luzon can expect light to moderate winds coming from the southeast to south, resulting in slight to moderate coastal conditions. Wave heights in these regions are expected to stay between 0.6 and 1.2 meters. Meanwhile, Mindanao will also experience light to moderate winds from the east to northeast, with similar wave conditions.

Temperature extremes for the past 24 hours were noted, with the maximum reaching 34.8°C at 2:00 PM and the minimum dropping to 25.9°C early at 5:00 AM. Relative humidity ranged from a low of 45% at noon to a high of 88% at dawn.
