Former actress-singer Lindsay Custodio has filed a formal complaint for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262) against her estranged husband, Frederick Cale, at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, June 2.

Accompanied by her legal counsel, Atty. Heyz Meking, Custodio accused Cale of subjecting her to various forms of abuse throughout their marriage, including sexual, emotional, verbal, psychological, and economic maltreatment.
This is the second time Custodio has taken legal action against Cale, following a similar complaint she filed in 2024, which was eventually dismissed. In her latest sworn statement, Custodio outlined disturbing details dating back to their engagement in 2020. She claimed that Cale exhibited “unusual behavior,” pressing for a quick wedding and insisting that their invitations request cash gifts.
Custodio recounted that after their wedding in 2022, Cale allegedly forced her to hand over their monetary wedding gifts. She said he “dragged” her to the bank to deposit the gift checks into a joint account, which he could access. She further claimed he coerced her into withdrawing all the funds from her account to settle his credit card debts.
The former “That’s Entertainment” star also detailed instances of verbal abuse targeting both herself and her two children from her first marriage. These episodes, she claimed, were sometimes witnessed by others. According to her, Cale left for Canada just two days after their wedding, showing no intention of cohabiting or fulfilling his role as a husband.
When Cale briefly returned to the Philippines in 2023, Custodio alleged he resumed his verbal and emotional abuse and even sexually assaulted her. She also stated that Cale had stopped providing financial support and maintained relationships with other women in Canada while still legally married to her.
“This is the first step to my healing. I have the truth in this,” Custodio said in an interview with TV Patrol.
Custodio was previously married to Tanauan Vice Mayor Julius Caesar Platon II, who died in 2018. Her marriage to Cale followed in 2022, but has since been marked by controversy. In response, Cale filed a cyberlibel case and a perjury complaint against Custodio in 2024—the latter was dismissed.

The case now awaits further investigation by the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
