Pagasa Afternoon Weather Forecast for June 3, 2024

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) released its afternoon weather forecast for June 3, 2025, warning of rain and thunderstorms across several regions due to the continued influence of the Southwest Monsoon and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Pagasa Weather Update

According to the bulletin, the Southwest Monsoon is currently affecting Luzon, particularly the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan. These areas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms, which may lead to flash floods or landslides, especially in areas where moderate to heavy rainfall occurs.

Meanwhile, the ITCZ is affecting parts of Mindanao. Regions under this weather system include BARMM, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental. These areas are likewise expected to have cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms, with similar risks of flooding and landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon. While rainfall is expected to be less intense in these areas, severe thunderstorms may still result in localized flooding and landslides.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers, resulting from localized thunderstorms. Residents are urged to remain alert during severe thunderstorm activity.

Pagasa also provided wind and coastal water updates. The northern and western parts of Luzon will have moderate southwest winds with coastal waters reaching 1.2 to 2.5 meters. In other parts of the country, winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southwest to south, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Temperature readings recorded a minimum of 25.5°C at 6:00 AM and a maximum of 33.4°C at 2:00 PM. Relative humidity ranged from a high of 96% at 5:00 AM to a low of 59% at 2:00 PM.

Flood advisories were issued as of 6:00 PM today for several regions: CAR, Ilocos Region, and BARMM (GFA #3); Central Luzon (GFA #10); and Region 9, Region 11, and Region 12 (GFA #1). Residents in these areas are advised to monitor local alerts and take necessary precautions.
