Aiza or Ice Seguerra had a traumatic experience in a comfort room for women in London because of the fact that he is now a transman.
Former National Youth Commission chairperson Aiza or Ice Seguerra, as he prefers it more, had a traumatic experience in a ladies’ room in London.
The topic regarding the proposal to have a separate comfort room for the members of the LGBT community circulated on social media just recently.
Ice’s partner, Liza Dino, who is also the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson, showed support in the said proposal.
This came from her understanding of the situation of her partner who is a transgender man.
The FDCP chairperson related the traumatic experience of Aiza Seguerra in a ladies’ room when he was in London, based on the article recently published in Bandera.
“Kasi siyempre dito sa Pilipinas kapag nagpunta siya sa CR ng lalaki, kilala siyang Aiza, ‘di ba? Magugulat na lang na nandoon siya. Kapag nasa ibang bansa naman siya, papasok siya sa CR ng babae, papalabasin siya kasi mukha siyang lalaki,” Liza opened up during the launch of CineMarya at FDCP Cinematheque Center Manila.
This situation is always a dilemma for the singer.
Furthermore, Liza also said that it is better to have a gender neutral comfort room.
“I think it’s good to have a gender neutral restrooms na pwedeng pasukan ng kahit sino,” she iterated.
Due to what happened, Liza said that Aiza sometimes does not want to use public comfort rooms.
“Minsan ayaw niyang umihi. Mas gusto na lang niya sa bahay. Kasi ‘yun nga, ah, siyempre, bilang lalaki gusto niyang pumunta sa CR ng guys. Pero kapag nagpunta siya doon, he’s opening himself up to scrutiny, idya-judge na siya ng iba or hindi mo alam kung ano ang mangyayari sa kanya sa loob,” Liza revealed, based on the article.
