PAGASA Weather Forecast: January 27, 2026

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Tuesday that the Northeast Monsoon, locally known as Amihan, continues to influence large parts of Luzon and the Visayas, bringing generally cooler conditions and varying rainfall across the country. Meanwhile, a shear line is affecting portions of Eastern Visayas and northeastern Mindanao, resulting in more unsettled weather in these areas.

Pagasa Weather Forecast

PAGASA said Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, the Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms. These weather conditions are caused by a shear line, where cold and warm air masses meet. Due to moderate to at times heavy rainfall, residents in low-lying and mountainous areas are advised to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, especially during prolonged or intense downpours.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon are forecast to have cloudy skies with light rains. These conditions are attributed to the ongoing Northeast Monsoon. PAGASA noted that no significant weather impacts are expected in these areas, although occasional drizzle may still affect daily activities.

For the rest of Luzon and the remaining parts of the Visayas, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected, also due to the Northeast Monsoon. These areas are likewise not expected to experience significant weather-related hazards.

In Mindanao, areas not directly affected by the shear line will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These localized thunderstorms may still pose a risk of flash floods or landslides, particularly during severe weather events in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA also warned of potentially hazardous marine conditions. The eastern section of the country will experience moderate to strong winds coming from the northeast to north, with coastal waters ranging from moderate to rough, measuring about 2.1 to 4.0 meters. The rest of the country will experience moderate to strong winds from the east to northeast, with coastal waters reaching heights of 1.2 to 2.5 meters. Small sea vessels are advised to avoid sailing, especially in affected coastal and offshore areas.

As of 6:00 a.m. on January 27, PAGASA maintained General Flood Advisories in several regions, including the Bicol Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and CARAGA, urging local authorities and residents to continue monitoring river conditions and weather updates.
