Comelec Gave An Extra Security For Spoiled Ballots To Avoid Trickery
According to balita.net, the Comelec (Commission on Elections) declaration assures that the 700,000 spoiled ballots of printing committee of a poll body will not be used for trickery purposes.
According to Atty. Genevieve Guevarra, leader of Comelec printing committee, it was declared that the ballots are defective after it was mistakenly cut. They isolate and put marks on the defective ballots whereby to secure that it will not be used anymore.
“As of now, ayaw ko muna siya ilabas ng National Printing Office (NPO) kasi ayaw ko po na ma-dispose siya na ‘di namin alam kung saan siya mapupunta. As a security measure, hindi na muna namin idi-dispose yung spoiled ballots even if we have cut them and shred them or invalidated them by putting a vertical line or line sa timing marks,’’ said by Guevarra.
As for the restoration for the defective ballots, the Comelec had made a reprint for new ballots for the replacements. Then recently the Comelec had reported that they almost have done reprinting the 57 million peso ballots that will be used this coming election day on May 9. Also, the poll body was looking forward to the verification on April 18.
Now the newly printed ballots undergo verification process to secure that the vote counting machines will accept these new ballots and to avoid any rejections.
