Senatorial Candidate Dick Gordon Scores Slow COMELEC Count, Unfair For Robredo, Marcos
Senatorial candidate Dick Gordon of the Bagumbayan Party rates the “slow count” of the Commission on Elections of the votes for the 2016 elections saying that it is unfair for Rep. Leni Robredo and Sen. Bongbong Marcos, and to the Filipino people as well.
According to a report on Philstar, Richard Gordon was the author and the sponsor of the Automated Election Law that has a purpose of making sure that the “speed and security features would be no dagdag-bawas (vote-shaving and vote-padding) during elections.”
In an interview with Dick Gordon, who would reclaim his position in the Senate said that the election machines are designed to transmit results instantly to the canvassing centers with a push of a button, from the cities, provinces, and the to the quick counts.
Gordon expressed his opinion regarding the resolution made on March 2016 wherein precincts that cannot transmit can use SD cards. This is because of the problem that arose that there are allegedly 20 percent of all the precincts were not able to transmit.
The coming senator added that SD cards are just as the size of a fingernail and one can put 50 SD cards in an envelope. “That means 50 precincts. So like in a spy movie, they can be easily switched,” Gordon said.
If the SD cards have been switched, were will you look for the electronic signatures?,” he added.
He also pointed out that the COMELEC did not implement the electronic signatures required by the law of three BEI inspectors to avoid cheating.
Another thing Gordon pointed out and he said he find disturbing is the very fast results from the first hours and became slow in the last times of the vice-presidential candidates. He said that the COMELEC needs to say where these votes are coming and it’s their duty to explain what causes delay.
Gordon worries on the possibility of still going back to the “system where nobody loses” and the other won and the other one was cheated.
