Cristy Fermin Defended Ella Cruz Over Controversial “Tsismis History” Statement
Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin defended “Maid in Malacañang” star Ella Cruz over controversial “tsismis history” statement.
Fermin has defended the actress who has come under fire for comparing history to “tsismis,” or gossip, and is now under heavy criticism. In an interview, Ella was questioned about the lessons she’s taken away from playing “Irene Marcos” in the film “Maid in Malacaang.”
“History is like tsismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so, hindi natin alam what is the real history. Andoon na iyong idea, pero may mga bias talaga… As long as we’re here alive at may kanya-kanyang opinion, I respect everyone’s opinion,” said the actress-dancer.
Due to the criticism she received Ella Cruz’s name is currently trending on social media platforms. This has also been discussed by historians and other famous people. It has also been discussed by a number of party lists, including ACT Teachers, Gabriela, and Kabataan.
Hopefully, the K–12 Curriculum will allow high school history classes to resume, which have been discontinued for a while. She sees nothing wrong or harmful in what Ella stated, according to an episode of Cristy’s entertainment vlog/radio show “Cristy Ferminute” with Romel Chika.
“Ang ganda naman ng pagkasabi ni Ella, ‘di ba? Minsan may tinatanggal, minsan may idinaragdag at depende po sa pananaw ng nagbibigay ng interpretasyon kung may bias o wala,” Cristy said.
Cristy was preferred by Romel Chika. He emphasized that Ella did not claim that history is gossip but rather that it is “like gossip” or that history and gossip are comparable. Other observers claim that Ella utilized the “simile” figure of speech.
It appears that what is going on is also a promotion for the movie’s forthcoming release. Ella Cruz’s camp hasn’t yet provided a comment, reply, or public statement regarding it.
