NASA scientist revealed that Earth is unprepared for a surprise asteroid strike.

NASA scientist revealed that Earth is unprepared for the surprise meteor strike that could immensely damage the planet.

NASA warns that Earth is totally unprepared for dealing with the threat of an asteroid strike.

The warning was confirmed by Dr Joseph Nuth, a researcher at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

Dr. Nuth announced this at the annual American Geophysical Union and confirmed that there’s nothing we could do to stop a strike like the one that killed off the dinosaurs.

“The biggest problem, basically, is there’s not a hell of a lot we can do about it at the moment,”  Dr. Nuth said.

In a recent report of Inquirer.net, Dr. Nuth made a chilling revelation by saying, the stargazers are closely monitoring asteroids and comets on a daily basis. But he warned that there is always a threat from a devastating impact if it landed.

Dr. Nuth pointed out that he fears that asteroids could wipe humanity off the face of the planet just like what happened to the dinosaurs.

“But on the other hand they are the extinction-level events, things like dinosaur killers, they’re 50 to 60 million years apart, essentially. You could say, of course, we’re due, but it’s a random course at that point.” he said.

Because of this, Dr. Nuth pointed out that the only option of the human kind is to build a rocket that could intercept the asteroid and keep it in storage in case of emergencies.

NASA scientists warned that an impact of the strike could do a potential damage to Earth and possibly could wipe out humanity in the planet.

Furthermore, Dr. Cathy Plesko, a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory, suggested another method called “kinetic impactor.”

Dr. Cathy Plesko explained that this is a giant cannonball in layman’s terms that could intercept an object at high speeds.

“Cannonball technology is actually very good technology; intercepting an object at high-speed actually ends up being more effective than high explosives.”

The possibility of a catastrophic asteroid slamming into Earth is extremely rare, but the experts already have warned that humans are not prepared for an asteroid impact if this his threat becomes a reality.

This is not the first time that experts have warned that the Earth is unprepared for an asteroid strike.
