Akosi Dogie, the most viewed streamer in the Philippines, might get sued for posting latest straight-from-the-cinema One Piece Stampede movie on Facebook.
Toei Animation is a Japanese animation studio primarily owned by Toei Company and responsible for making long-running One Piece series.
The company has already been made aware of piracy and was deeply saddened of what some of the Filipino fans did.
If Toei Animation and SM Cinema decided to file a case against him for posting camera-recorded clips on Facebook, Akosi Dogie might have to pay P750,000 and get imprisoned for up to 6 years for the lawsuit.
As defined in the Republic Act 10088 (also known as the “Anti-Camcording Act of 2010”), it is “an act to prohibit and penalize the unauthorized use, possession and/or control of audiovisual recording devices for the unauthorized recording of cinematographic films and other audiovisual works and/or their soundtracks in an exhibition facility, providing penalties therefor and for other purposes“.
The post
The video posted above shows that Dogie recorded the scene from One Piece Stampede from the cinema, which he deleted it after his post went viral. Anime fans were mad after seeing Dogie’s post and it reached more than 138,000 views on his post last Sunday, September 22.
“(Sa) mga taong nagsasabi na pinirata ko yung One Piece Stampede! Yung pinost kong video yung nasa trailer yun! Naku po mga tao!” Dogie’s defense after his viral post.
“Manood kasi muna ng trailer para malaman kung ano (ang) pinost ko!” he added.
“If there are more and more video leaks from cinemas in South East Asia, Japanese copyright owners will have no second thoughts to cut us off completely so as to protect their big markets,” ODEX Philippines stated in their post.
“With your help, we will be able to continue putting up the best anime movies in our local cinemas,” ODEX Philippines added.
