Veteran actor Julio Diaz denies the rumors that have been going around the show business world that he has succumbed to heart failure.
On Sunday evening, news about the passing away of the 57 year old veteran actor broke out and shocked his fellow actors and the rest in the showbiz industry.
The actor said, “Buhay na buhay ako”, to belie the news about his passing away and to prove that he is still alive and kicking.
In an interview, Diaz said that his doctors have told him that he has a big tendency to have a heart attack and he also had a heart enlargement but he is still alive.
He further clarified that it was not him who had passed away but his half brother to his father who is his namesake but he is two years senior.
According to a report by Pep, the news broke out when the batchmate of Julio named Lulu Datuin confirmed it where it was said that Julio, or Mariano de Leon Regaliza in real life, has succumbed to cardiac arrest.
The actor was last brought to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was confined at the intensive caure unit (ICU) of the hospital because of severe headache.
He was diagnosed of having brain aneurysm and had later undergone operation which turned to be successful.
The news regarding his health was later replaced by news regarding his involvement in illegal drugs in his hometown in Meycauayan, Bulacan but Julio voluntarily surrendered himself to the Philippine National Police (PNP) to attest his innocence.
Julio Diaz was one of the premier actors in the Philippines having starred in “Sinner or Saint” in 1984, “Paano Tatakasan Ang Bukas” in 1988, “Kailan Ka Magiging Akin?” in 1990, “Aliwan Paradise” in 1992, “The Flor Contemplacion Story” in 1995, “Segurista” in 1996, “Balahibong Pusa” in 2001, and “Kinatay” in 2009.
He also starred in the recent Direk Brillante Mendoza film, “Ma’ Rosa” which garnered awards in the Cannes Film Festival.
