Angel Locsin was defended by netizen against the rant of ‘Playgirls’ members after she buzzed them out of “Pilipinas Got Talent”.
Another controversy happened during the March 3 episode of “Pilipinas Got Talent” when the all-girl group ‘Playgirls’ showcased their supposed to be talent in car washing while dancing in bikini outfit.
Just a few seconds after they started their performance, PGT judge Angel Locsin immediately buzzed them out of the talent show.
As the verdict came, judges Robin Padilla and Freddie Garcia voted for them while Vice Ganda also said no.
Angel explained her side that she just wants the ‘Playgirls’ members to be respected as performers.
“Ako kasi parang hindi ko kaya na makita kayo na nagsasayaw na naka-underwear para lang sa amin. Masyado kayong magaganda at masyado n’yo itong pinaghirapan para gawin ‘yan. Kung may talento kayo ‘yun ang ipakita n’yo sa amin dahil talent ang hinahanap namin dito, hindi katawan, kaya ko kayo binuzz. Ayokong ma-objectify kayo. Masyado akong nagmamalasakit para sa inyo. Para i-go kayo at para patuloy kayong panoorin ng mga kalalakihan na ginagawa yan.”
On the other hand, three of the members of the all-girl group did not take the decision of Angel positively.
They ranted about it on their social media accounts. Yuna Love Lee, Darlene Domingo and Camsi Sierra of the said group criticized Angel.
In line with this, netizen Keneth Quinto wrote an open letter intended to ‘Playgirls’, following their criticism against the PGT judge.
Quinto said on his Facebook post that Angel did not judge the being of the members of the PGT contestants and that she was concern about them instead.
“Unang-una, hindi naman hinusgahan ni Angel ang pagkatao n’yo. Pinaalalahanan lang kayo at concern lang sa inyo ‘yung tao.”
He also corrected the “nude” term used by Camsi Sierra when Angel portrayed the iconic Pinay superhero “Darna”.
“’yung about sa Darna n’ya. Mga ate? Okay lang kayo? Wala pang Angel Locsin, may Darna na. At hindi nudity ang tawag du’n. Alam n’yo ba ang pinagsasabi n’yo? Masasabing nudity ang isang bagay kung wala na talagang suot ang isang tao.”
In addition, the netizen pointed out that the group should accept the fact that they entered a competition and there are judges who will decide about their performance.
“sumali kayo sa isang talent show. May judge. May hurado. Uulitin ko, MAY JUDGE. Uulitin ko ulit para maintindihan ng sinasabaw n’yong mga utak… MAY JUDGE. May huhusga sa inyo. Ayaw n’yo naman palang husgahan sa ginawa n’yo, bakit pa kayo sumali-sali?”
