Arnold Clavio to PBBM’s Re-election: “Pangarap mo ay pangarap mo lang”

Arnold Clavio Reacts to Re-election Proposal to PBBM

Veteran broadcaster Arnold Clavio reacts to the re-election proposal of a congressman for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (PBBM)

On Instagram, Arnold Clavio, a seasoned journalist, criticized a congressman’s proposal to lengthen the terms of the nation’s future presidents. On June 1, Pampanga Representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzalez Jr. introduced a motion calling for the president of the nation to serve two terms.

A president will only be able to be elected once, and the tenure will be reduced from six to five years. Gonzales wants this to cover the proposed Charter Change or Constitutional Amendment, which will be regarded as one of the previous administration’s platforms.

Because this was not one of Marcos’ platforms, Clavio questioned it. The seasoned broadcaster criticized Gonzales and added that his desired resolution will remain only a desire.

“Huh? Isang araw pa lang, mind conditioning? Reminder : Agriculture, Health, Public Infrastructure, Climate Change at Education. Yan ang mga nabanggit sa inaugural speech ni Pangulong BBM,” said Clavio.

“Wala akong narinig na Constitutional amendments. Para kay Pampanga Rep. Aurelio ‘ Dong ‘Gonzales , ba naghain ng resolusyon, ang pangarap mo ay pangarap mo lang,” he added.

You may remember that following the election of Marcos and his vice president Sara Duterte, the desire to amend the Constitution got even greater. Robin Padilla, one of the most vocal supporters of charter revision, also spearheaded the senatorial vote. Whether Marcos would likewise advocate for the constitutional change that was made after his father was removed from power is unknown.
