The issue on the ownership of the Panatag Shoal or internationally known as the Scarborough Shoal has been on the surface for months. Even after reaching the Arbitral Tribunal, the Tribunal’s verdict is not yet fully honored until now.
Recently, Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte had an official state visit to Beijing, China. Many have affirmed that it has revived the relationship of the two countries.
After the 71-year-old President’s visit, the Chinese nation has granted permission to the Filipino fishermen to fish in the disputed Panatag Shoal.
