‘Giving permission is an act of ownership,’ Nene Pimentel speaks

Nene Pimentel speaks on the issue of China giving the Filipino fisherfolks permission to fish on the disputed shoal.

NENE PIMENTEL SPEAKS – Former Sen. Aquilino ‘Nene’ Pimentel Jr. spoke on the recent move of China to allow Filipino fisherfolks to fish on the disputed shoal.

The issue about the ownership of the Panatag Shoal has not yet come to an end. The verdict of the Arbitral Tribunal that sided in the Philippines was not fully honored by the Chinese community.

Despite the undeniably warm relationship now shared by PH and China, the ownership of the shoal is not yet fully in the hands of the Filipinos.

Recently, an unexpected move of China happened just after the state visit of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte to Beijing, China. The Chinese nation has granted permission to the Filipino fisherfolks to fish on the disputed shoal.
