Celebrities React to Final Presidential Debate

Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla and other prominent Filipino celebrities also joined the online discussion of the recently concluded presidential debate or Pilipinas Debates 2016.

Some of the renowned showbiz personalities in the country expressed message of support to their preferred presidentiables while some reacted on the statement released by the candidates.

On Sunday, April 24, 2016, all five presidential candidates; Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Grace Poe, former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago face off in the final presidential debate.

The final leg of the Pilipinas Debates 2016 was brought by ABS-CBN and it was held at PHINMA University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City.

Here are the reactions of some popular celebrities according to PEP.ph:

Daniel Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, Lovi Poe, Karylle Tatlonghari-Yuzon, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter to give message of support to their respective presidential bet.

Vice Ganda and Aiza Suguerra commented on Binay’s performance during the debate.

Kim Chiu hinted support to a candidate who’s consistent every debate.

Anne Curtis is still undecided on the upcoming May 9, 2016 presidential elections.

Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte maintained his lead in the latest presidential survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS) despite his post-controversial remark.

Just recently, the PDP-Laban standard-bearer drew flak on various social media platforms and was heavily criticized by women’s groups and the church and other presidential contenders over his controversial remark to an incident that happened in 1989 which involved an Australian missionary named Jacqueline Hamill.

But in a latest SWS survey, Duterte dominated in the presidential survey with 33 percent despite he drew massive negative criticism over his remark that even caught the attention of international media platforms.

Sen. Grace Poe on the other hand landed on the second spot with 24 percent while Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas landed on the third place after garnering 19 percent survey rating.

Vice President Jejomar Binay with 14 percent clinched on the fourth spot while Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago is still on the last place upon earning only 2 percent.
