The phenomenal love team AlDub of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza is celebrating its 3rd anniversary this year.

It all started in the ‘Kalyeserye’ portion of ‘All For Juan, Juan For All’ segment of the longest noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’.

Alden and Maine’s tandem was not planned. It all just happened in serendipity but the result was overwhelming.

On July 16, 2015 episode of the ‘Problem Solving’ portion of ‘Juan For All, All For Juan’, Alden and Maine were accidentally paired.

That was the start of the first-ever episode of ‘Kalyeserye’ featuring their tandem.

Alden played the fictional character of himself while Maine was ‘Yaya Dub’ or Divina Ursula Bokbokova Smash, a playful use of ‘Dubsmash’.

That was the inception of the phenomenal love team in noontime TV viewing.

For 30 minutes to 1 hour of improvised acting with comedians Wally Bayola (Lola Nidora), Jose Manalo (Lola Tinidora) and Paolo Ballesteros (Lola Tidora), AlDub entertained their fans through their “kilig” moments.

Primarily, they were just shown together through split screen because Maine was always in a remote location while Alden was in the studio.

And so the tandem became phenomenal with a success both on mainstream and social media.

On Twitter, AlDub Nation reigned and beat the records.

The hashtag #AlDubEBTamangPanahon had a record of 41 million tweets within 24 hours. It surpassed the record of 2014 World Cup semi-finals between Germany and Brazil with 37.6 million tweets.

Though ‘Kalyeserye’ has long been ended, fans of the phenomenal love team are still fervently supporting them.

The tandem also went through a tough time when Maine openly admitted that her reel team up with Alden is not as the same in real life.

Despite of that, avid fans are still behind them and they even happily celebrated the 3rd anniversary of AlDub.
