Jao Mapa currently has this career after leaving showbiz
Former actor Jao Mapa has been out of showbiz circle for several years and he is now focusing on a career still concerning with arts.
He was formerly known as one of the member of Gwapings with Mark Anthony Fernandez, Erik Fructuoso, and Jomari Yllana.
The defunct group did several TV shows and two movies together –
Gwapings: The First Adventure (1992) and Gwapings Dos (1993).
Later on, they had their solo careers and eventually Jao Mapa took a break from show business.
It was rumored that the reason why he left his acting career was because he was so heartbroken when he and his non-showbiz ex-girlfriend separated.

On the other hand, he clarified that his former partner left him for another man.
Now, he is happily married to his wife Cecile and they have 3 children named Benjamin, Caleb and Amber Marie.
Aside from the happiness he gets from his family, Jao’s current career also gives him the satisfaction.
When he was in showbiz, he was performing arts. Now, he is creating visual arts through his paintings.
Based on Bandera’s report, some showbiz personalities have already known that Jao Mapa has a talent in painting. He actually graduated with a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas.
Before, he used to hang out with his co-stars in films or television shows, now, the former actor is spending time with his co-artists.
Jao also has the chance to share his talent in painting to others. He is now teaching at an international school to students who also love to paint.
Based on the report, some of the art students of the former Gwapings member are children of diplomats.
