She starred in daring films such as ‘Kaya Ko Pero Masakit’, ‘Gatilyo’, ‘Akin Ka Lang’, and ‘Sisa’.
It has long been since Aya reigned in this kind of movie genre but she is definitely reigning now in a different field.
After she left showbiz in 2002, she got married with her Japanese boyfriend named Yoji Hayakawa, a businessman.
They were blessed with a lovely daughter who they named Shania Ishi.
On the other hand, it was reported by GMA News Online that the couple had already separated but fortunately their communication line is still open and that they were getting along well, despite of what happened to their relationship.

The former actress turned chef and businesswoman revealed that what she had been through as a second-time mother was not easy because she gave birth via cesarean section, based on the report.
Currently, Aya Medel is focusing most of her time on her business and taking care of her two children.
