Former child star L.A. Lopez or Lyle Areanne Lopez has this kind of life now after he left the Philippine entertainment industry a few years ago.
L.A. had his first TV appearance when he joined the That’s My Boy contest of the Kapuso longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. After that stint, Comedy King Dolphy discovered him and included the former child star in his projects. He also became popular through the children’s show Eh Kasi Bata. His talent brought him various awards as a child star.
After taking a break from showbiz, L.A. returned in 2002 with the song Yakap. The said song made it to top Billboard charts and Radio countdowns in the country. After that, his career somehow did not soar high and he stayed in the US for 7 years, according to the article from ABS-CBN. He came back in 2017 with the new album titled Ikaw Pa Rin. L.A. composed and sang the song I See You which became the theme song of the love team of Jade and Andy in the defunct Kapamilya series My Binondo Girl. He admitted that his longing to do showbiz projects, especially singing, pushed him to do the album.
While he was in the States, he studied to be a pastor of a Born Again denomination. L.A. shared that he also musical theater there. Currently, he is the head pastor and worship leader of Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines. The former child star also founded the Jzone Pinoy, the Tagalog wing of the Christ Commission Fellowship’s Youth Ministry J-Zone (now Elevate). Based on his social media posts, the former child star apparently is a chef now.
