Richard Gomez was criticized by netizens because of his alleged post of fake news about Queen Elizabeth II’s statement.

Actor turned politician Richard Gomez received a round of criticisms from netizens for allegedly posting fake news.

The Mayor of Ormoc City has tweeted something about an alleged statement coming from Queen Elizabeth II intended to President Rodrigo Duterte.

According to the article written by entertainment columnist Alex Brosas in Bandera, reportedly, Richard tweeted the said statement.

This is the alleged statement from the Britain’s royal:

“Queen Elizabeth: ‘Who Who Would Have Thought That One Day Philippines Will Get A Brave man Like Duterte?’”

It was said that it came from the report of British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

On the other hand, there are netizens who researched about it and they found out that it was fake news after all.

Reportedly, there are a lot of the social media users who proved that it was indeed a false claim.

Due to the tweet of Richard Gomez, it was said that he received a lot of criticisms from netizens.

There are those who stated that the elected public official was careless of using the social media without making sure what he is posting.
