Juliana Gomez is not allowed to do this as a UP student, according to Richard Gomez
Actor-politician Richard Gomez imposed one “bawal” to his daughter Juliana Gomez now that the latter is already a student at the University of the Philippines.
Juliana is the only child of Richard with his wife actress-politician Lucy Torres. They have a close father-and-daughter relationship as this is frequently seen on their social media posts. The young lady also inherited the sporty side of her father.

Now that Juliana is already a college student, Richard shared that he made his daughter choose her school. Among the three choices, La Salle, Ateneo, and UP, the young lady chose the latter where both Richard and Lucy studied. Then, the couple encouraged their daughter to join the UP Lady Fighting Maroons, the varsity volleyball team of the university.
https://www.instagram.com/p/ByKSGshhMsH/Though they let Juliana chose her school, Richard Gomez said that he imposed one prohibition to her. “Wala kang sasalihang sorority,” the actor-politician said to his daughter. “Hindi naman niya kailangan eh. Ang pinaka-magandang masasalihan diyan iyon talagang varsity athletics. Kinuha naman siya agad. Sasali siya sa sorority, masasaktan lang siya sa initiation. Kung sa akin siguro ok lang iyon, pero sa anak ko ayoko nang ganoon,” the concerned father added.

For Richard, it is better for their daughter to be careful in joining university organizations despite the fact that the students are being taught to be independent. “Hindi itinuturo ng unibersidad iyong sobra eh, nakukuha iyan sa mga kasama nila sa kung anu-anong asosasyon. Kaya sabi ko nga wala kang sasalihan. Walang sorority,” the mayor said.
Based on the article from Pang-Masa, Lucy also has the same thought about this matter. She said that when she studied in UP Cebu, the rallies were not as intense in Manila. For the celebrity mom, it is good that their daughter decided to study here in the country because they don’t want to be away with her if she decided to study abroad.
