‘Eat Bulaga’ ‘Sugod Bahay’ Winner Thanked The Rival Network Of GMA

An awkward moment happened during the Feb. 14 episode of ‘Eat Bulaga’ ‘Sugod Bahay’ when the winner thanked ABS CBN instead of GMA

TV shows which are airing live always encounter unexpected moment because there is no cut or edit and the longest noontime show in the country ‘Eat Bulaga’ is not an exemption to this.

During the February 14 episode of the show, the segment which chooses a resident in a certain barangay to be the winner dubbed as ‘Sugod Bahay’, an elderly who is a devoted Muslim was chosen.

Eat Bulaga

Based on the article published in Philippines Trends just recently, an awkward moment happened when the segment hosts Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros and Maine Mendoza was interviewing the said winner.

After Bossing Vic Sotto signaled that the ‘pasalubong’ or initial prizes should be given, the elderly Muslim woman was asked if what she can say about it.

The awkward moment was when she said thank you to ABS CBN when in fact the said noontime show is in GMA but the winner immediately corrected herself and said, “no, no sorry, GMA ‘Eat Bulaga’”.

It can be heard that the studio audience reacted with shout and laughter about this while Jose jokingly said, “nalipat na po and ‘Eat Bulaga’ sa ABS CBN, bumalik po”.

Also with jest, Vic asked, “ano bibigyan pa ba natin ng Bossing Savings to?” He was talking about the additional prize that the winner will receive.

Eat Bulaga

Since it was live TV show and whatever has been said could not be edited out again, the hosts of the segment just did the cliché which says “the show must go on”.

After all the prizes have been given to the winner, she then thanked with conviction the GMA network, ‘Eat Bulaga’ and its host for being there in their place and she was chosen as a winner.

Her correct statement made Bossing clap so hard and the audience also applauded.

The Kapuso network attributed what happened to the over excitement that the winner felt, based on the article.
