Cloie Syquia Skarne, Gabby Concepcion’s daughter, prepares for the coveted crown.
To be called a “proud father” is an understatement of how the 1990s matinee idol Gabby Concepcion must be feeling right now.
Aside from his own personal fame, his children are also catching eyes, not only in the Philippines but also around the globe. Everybody knows Kristina Cassandra (KC) Cuneta-Concepcion, his daughter to ex-wife ‘Megastar’ Sharon Cuneta.
Another Concepcion blood is taking on the stage. Cloie Syquia Skarne is now preparing herself for the upcoming Miss Universe-Sweden 2016 pageant.
Cloie is the daughter of Gabby Concepcion with ex-wife, former actress Jenny Syquia. After separating from Gabby, Jenny remarried, with Cloie adopting the surname of her stepfather Filip Skarne.
Cloie, who is turning 22, is based in Sweden. According to her Instagram profile, she is currently an ambassador for Operation Smile Philippines.
Although Cloie is now in the Philippines for her vacation, she is into extensive exercise in the gym with half-sister KC in preparation to the event.
“Being HEALTHY is beautiful!. Working on our health and fitness with an intense workout session! Power to us women! [ KC Concepcion]. Getting readyfor#MissUniverseSweden2016 #MissUniverseSweden [Miss Universe Sweden]” Cloie wrote on her Instagram account.
According to the model, she wants to ‘give back to the world’, especially in alleviating the situation of the poor. A visit to an orphanage inspired her to her advocacy.
“Charity is something I really enjoy. I would like to give back to the world and feel good doing it. I founded and run a company that donates 10% of the proceeds to charity, something I want to continue to do whatever I run the company in the future,” she stated.
If given the chance, Syquia would love to improve conditions for children growing up in poverty, “It’s something I realized when I visited an orphanage in the Philippines. Poverty is not only lack the necessities of life but also the lack of opportunities in life, such as helping to educate themselves,” Syquia stated.
Once crowned, Cloie will be Sweden’s representative to the Miss Universe pageant to be held in the Philippine on January 2017.
