Ice Seguerra Sings for His Mommy Caring One Last Time in Viral Video

Filipino singer-songwriter Ice Seguerra is mourning the death of his beloved mother, Caridad “Mommy Caring” Yamson Seguerra, who passed away on June 27, 2025, at the age of 85. In a deeply emotional moment captured on video, Ice sang “Everything I Own” by Bread as a final tribute to his mother, a performance that has since gone viral online.

In the video’s caption, Ice reflected on his grief: “As a kid, my greatest fear was losing you… I told myself I wouldn’t sing, but deep in my heart, I knew I’d regret not singing for you one last time. This was your favorite song… I would give everything I own… just to have you back again. I love you so much. For Always. I will miss you forever.”

Ice confirmed Mommy Caring’s passing through a heartfelt social media post, stating that she died peacefully at 7:54 a.m., surrounded by family. No official cause of death has been released.

Caridad Seguerra was a familiar presence in Ice’s life and career. Known to fans as a constant figure by Ice’s side, she was described as his “fiercest protector” and “constant cheerleader,” someone who loved him unconditionally. “She accepted me and embraced me for who I am, especially who I am not,” Ice shared.

The heartbreaking loss comes at a major turning point in Ice’s career. On August 8, 2025, he is set to release Being Ice, an eight-track album of all-original songs — his first full-length project as Ice Seguerra. The lead single, “Shelter of the Broken,” was released on June 28 to coincide with Pride Day.

“This is the most personal I’ve ever been,” Ice said. “I’ve allowed the world to hear all of me — every fear, every hope, every truth.”

The album reunites Ice with celebrated producer Jonathan Manalo and longtime collaborators. In support of the album, Ice will hold a two-night concert, Being Ice: Live, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on September 12 and 13.

Mommy Caring is survived by Ice and his sibling, Juan Carlos Miguel Seguerra. Her wake is being held at the Chapel of Selene, Aeternitas Chapel, and Columbarium in Quezon City. Cremation is scheduled for July 1.
