Veteran showbiz columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis has revealed her struggle with anxiety after a recent hospital confinement, calling the experience both eye-opening and emotionally challenging.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Lolit shared her thoughts on the unexpected turn in her health. “Talagang hindi ko akalain at my age dun pa ako mako confined at magkakasakit,” she admitted. She described experiencing an anxiety attack upon realizing she was bedridden, a situation she never imagined for herself.
The columnist confessed that she was not used to hospital environments, which made the experience even more disorienting. “Every time I wake up in the morning, shock ako na nasa ibang kuwarto ako,” she said, adding that waking up in unfamiliar surroundings left her feeling “at a lost.”
Lolit admitted that the sensations were all new to her, and she couldn’t understand why she was feeling so strange. “I feel like crying pero wala na akong magagawa,” she wrote, expressing the helplessness she felt during her hospital stay.
Despite the tough experience, Lolit shared that the support of her friends in the industry gave her immense comfort. Their visits uplifted her spirit and reminded her she was not alone.
She described being sick as a deeply humbling experience. “Hopeless, helpless, weak ka,” she said. Yet, she also acknowledged that perhaps it was God’s timing. “So grateful na ngayon older na ako nangyari ito,” she said, pointing out that age has given her the patience and wisdom to accept difficult circumstances.
The experience became a turning point for Lolit. “If being sick is a sacrifice, I have to experience it was an eye opener for me,” she wrote, adding that even routine medical procedures were unfamiliar and overwhelming.
She expressed gratitude toward the hospital staff who took care of her, likening her stay to an extended sleepover. But the emotional toll remained heavy. “Minsan nga gusto ko umiyak dahil sa self pity,” she confessed.
In closing, Lolit reflected, “Pero talaga siguro ganuon ang buhay, dumarating mga bagay sa oras ng hindi mo alam,” a reminder that life’s biggest lessons often arrive unannounced.
